TabNest ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Chrome extension.

1. Information We Collect

Data stored locally on your device:

• Tab data: URLs, page titles, and favicon URLs of tabs you choose to shelve. This data is stored locally using Chrome's Storage API and never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable cloud sync.
• Session data: Names, tags, and organizational metadata for your saved sessions.
• Settings: Your preferences such as auto-shelve rules, excluded domains, and theme choice.
• Usage statistics: Anonymous counts of tabs shelved, sessions created, and tabs restored. This data stays on your device.

Data we do NOT collect:

• We do not collect browsing history beyond the tabs you explicitly shelve.
• We do not track your browsing activity.
• We do not collect personal information (name, email, etc.) unless you create an account for cloud sync.
• We do not sell, share, or transmit your data to third parties.
• We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

2. Cloud Sync (Pro Sync / Lifetime Users)

If you opt into cloud sync, your session data (tab URLs, titles, session names) will be encrypted and stored on our secure servers to enable cross-device synchronization. This data is:

• Encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest
• Only accessible by you through your authenticated account
• Deletable at any time through your account settings
• Never shared with or sold to third parties

3. Permissions

TabNest requests the following Chrome permissions:

• tabs: Required to read your open tabs for shelving and to create tabs when restoring sessions.
• storage: Required to save your sessions, settings, and preferences locally.
• alarms: Required for the auto-shelve feature to periodically check for inactive tabs.

We request only the minimum permissions necessary for the extension to function.

4. Payment Information

Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see, store, or have access to your credit card number or payment details. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment transactions.

5. Data Retention

• Local data: Stored indefinitely on your device until you delete it or uninstall the extension.
• Cloud sync data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
• Payment records: Retained as required by law for accounting purposes.

6. Data Export & Deletion

You can export all your session data at any time via Settings > Export. You can delete all data via Settings > Clear All Data. Upon uninstalling the extension, all local data is automatically removed by Chrome.

7. Children's Privacy

TabNest is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the extension or via email if you have an account.
